Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN who is also anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN in 2016. was a part of ESPN. Her mother is the TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old, a valuable skill that helped her secure her first position working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami that provided her with the opportunity to work with the producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, her CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009 she relocated to Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. In reporting on news stories about drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas border, she was a news reporter for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm, a news reporter on English until 9pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm before returning on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel. She was also often asked to fill in as an anchor for weather and sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her larger responsibilities. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason, as well as the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Aside from this she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was promoted to anchor the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. As a sports anchor, she worked for Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports show). Antonietta Collins' parents are born in Veracruz Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992 her family left Mexico and relocated to Miami. Within a brief time her father separated from her mother and she was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten a job. At the time of her senior year in high school but knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue with her life Antonietta was able to visit her local University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. It turned out that she loved the campus and they were offering the kind of program she was searching for. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the University. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was student in the class, established a lasting relationship with the student. Her professor urged her to believe in herself and was deeply moved by his passion for journalism.
